TLV5626: Reference voltage design requirements

Part Number: TLV5626

Hi, team:

    Nice to meet you!

When I use TLV5626 with external reference, I notice in datasheet it written:

Due to the x2 output buffer, a reference input voltage ≥ (VDD – 0.4 V)/2 causes clipping of the transfer function. The output buffer of the internal reference must be disabled, if an external reference is used

It confused me, I want to check if I use 3V VDD, and external 1.042V for reference, does it need to disabled *2 output buffer or is it means only disable output buffer in the case that input voltage ≥ (VDD – 0.4 V)/2?

Could you help explain how to choose suitable external reference in my design?

    Hope to get your reply.
