ADC08D1020: Connecting ADC to DDR4

Part Number: ADC08D1020

Hi all,

I want to use this ADC to sample data at 800MSPS. I was thinking of using an 800MHZ clock for that. The sampled data need to be put in a DDR4 memory. Can I directly clock in the memory by providing the same clock to DDR4? Or do I need to go through an FPGA PL logic that has MIG? I am using a Zync Ultrascale +. Since the output of the ADC is LVDS will I require additional differential to single-ended converted in my FPGA? Also can you suggest any DDR which would be good for this application.

  • Manjusha,

Since DDR has timing and package requirements you'll need to store the data via the FPGA.   I believe the Ultrascale+ can be configured as a differential input, please confirm.  Depending on the LVDS data rate there may or may not be a buffer that can run at that rate and voltage level requirement by the FPGA.

    Regards,

    Geoff
