ADS8588S: TINA simulation question

Part Number: ADS8588S

Hi,

I download a simulation reference circuit sbam311.tsc on ADS8588S page and open it on TINA .

But I've no idea what CH1_OUT means. Is it the channel AIN1 digitized code?

But I run the simulation and get transient waveform below: CH1_OUT waveform has smooth slope line. If it's digitized code it should be straight line and the step should happen aligned with ADC_BUSY edge.

  • Hi Justifice,

The 'flat regions' on the CH1_OUT represent the settled voltage on the sample/hold capacitor after the acquisition period.  It's held flat since no additional acquisition is taking place during the BUSY high (conversion period) time.  Do let us know if there is further detail needed.
