ADS1258EVM-PDK: ADS1258 without MMB0

Part Number: ADS1258EVM-PDK
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1258

Hi Team,

(1)  I want to connect ads1258 without MMB0 to interface with the RZA2M processor. I this ads1258 board the Jumpers are not present in J4.1-2(ADC_AVDD) and J4.3-4(ADC_AVSS). Is it required? I refer the schematic, I understood that it is the supply to the adc.

(2)  The supply should be given to J5A right? What is the use of shorting J5A.2 & 4.

I checked the forum no one have this issue. Please reply.

Thank you

  • Hi FAHAD K R,

Here are the answers to your questions:

    1. I would refer to the schematic to make sure you are providing power to the correct locations on the EVM. You will at least need to provide an AVDD and DVDD supply, and possibly an AVSS if you want to use bipolar supplies. If you are using unipolar supplies, AVSS = GND.

    2. Yes, the supply can be given to J4 or J5

  • Hi Bryan

I am using it in unipolar supply. I give supply +5V and +3.3V to the J5.3 and J5.9. I give the SPI communication lines to J6 and ground between 2 boards. Anything else I have to give to make hardware done.

    Thank you for your reply.

  • Hi FAHAD K R,

If you have correctly connected both supplies, setup the communication lines, and provided a solid ground connection between the two boards, you should be good to go.

Also make sure the jumpers on J4 are correctly set, because you have connected the power to the J5.
