ADC128S102QML-SP: What happens when sensing the ADC's floating input channel?

Part Number: ADC128S102QML-SP

I'm currently using the ADC128S102QML-SP.

I'd like to understand how it behaves when reading an empty channel among its input channels.

I've applied 5V to VD and VA, and it seems that sensing the floating channel results in an output of approximately 3V.

I need to verify if this aligns with the characteristics of the ADC128S102QML-SP."

Thank you.

  • Hi Yunji,

You are seeing normal behavior, and it is not limited to the ADC128S102QML-SP.  It's not something that is normally characterized, but most ADCs will provide a conversion result near mid scale when the input is open.
