ADS8887: power up sequential

Part Number: ADS8887

When I provide a 4.7V voltage to the Ui signal using voltage divider resistors and turn on the power switch, the currents for +15V and -15V are relatively high, as measured through R60 and R64. However, there are three cases where the current is not high: 1. When I remove the ADC U1, the current is not high. 2. When I remove the Ui input and leave it floating, then power on, the current is not high. 3. When I power on the circuit first and then apply a 4.7V voltage to Ui, the current is also not high.

I don't understand these phenomena and would appreciate your help in resolving them or providing relevant information.

Thank you very much.

  • Hello Guo,

We cannot see the picture that you attached. Can you try uploading the file as a PNG or JPEG with high-resolution? Alternatively, a PDF schematic would be helpful.

In general, power should always be applied to the ADC before any input signals are connected.

    Regards,

    Ryan
