ADC3662: Overflow behaviour

Dear all,

We are designing a board with the ADC3662 configured to use the internal DDC feature with complex decimation.

We are wondering what will happen in case of an overflow?

We do not see any dedicated pin or status bit to get this information and the datasheet doesn't clarify this.

Will the output of the DDC saturate to maximum/minimum to indicate an input overflow?

In case this information is not available when using the internal DDC, disabling it will make it available in some way?

Hello Antonio,

Unfortunately, this device does not have any overrange indication whether in decimation mode or in DDC bypass mode.

Thanks for the answer.

When not using the DDC, will the output code simply saturate to 0x7FFF or 0x8000 allowing us to detect the saturation simply comparing the output value with a constant?

Correct, the output code will clip at the max whenever saturated
