DAC53202: Can't readback any registers via SPI

Hi，

I‘am using DAC53202，the output current and voltage of the DAC can be correctly changed by configuring the DAC-X-DATA, but when trying to read back any register, the SDO pin is always at the IO level.

The clock cycle of the read back is 1.27us.

I suspect that the GPIO is not properly configured as SDO, so I tried many different combinations of the relevant configurations in the registers such as COMMON-TRIGGER, COMMON-CONFIG, INTERFACE-CONFIG, GPIO-CONFIG, etc., But it never changed the situation that the SDO was always high.

Can you provide a correct copy of the readback sample code? Or have any cases of successful readback to share?

Hi VR,

Set the GPIO-CONFIG register (0x24) to 0x0000.

Set the SDO-EN bit in the INTERFACE-CONFIG register (0x26) to 1.

That should be all that is required to read back via the SDO pin.

Thanks for confirming that you were able to get it to work!

I agree the datasheet could be more clear that you shouldn't enable the GPIO pin if you are trying to use the pin as SDO. The design was done so the pin acts as GPIO or SDO so enabling the GPIO as an input or output disables SDO mode.
