ADS1251: Frequency Response Spreadsheet

Part Number: ADS1251
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS127L11

Hello,

In the ADS1251 datasheet, it mentions that the frequency reponse can be calculated with a spreadsheet from TI, "SBAA103, A Spreadsheet to Calculate the
Frequency Response of the ADS1250-54". I searched TI but could not find SBAA103. Does TI still have a way to calculate/display the frequency response?

Thank you,

DC

  • Hi Don Chorman,

The document you requested is no longer available, however you can simply plot the digital filter transfer function in Excel (or Matlab) to get the response. The transfer function is given in the datasheet, and I have copied it below. The second image shows the filter response that I plotted quickly in Excel

Ensure that you are plotting 20*log (H(f)) to get the graph below, and note that for ADS1251, fMOD = fCLK / 8

I should also note that we have recently released an updated version of the ADS1251 called ADS127L11. This is a much newer device and its performance is better in every way compared to the ADS1251. Let me know if you would like to learn more about this newer ADC

  • Hi Bryan,

Thank you for your feedback. I was able to use the function as you pointed out.

I'm interested in learning more about the newer part, ADS127L11, and will review its datasheet.

I might reach out to TI in the near future to get more info regarding ADS127L11.

    Thank you,

    Don
