DAC53701: PWM Generation using DAC53701

Part Number: DAC53701
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC53202, DAC539G2-Q1

Hi

There are two queries:
1. Can DAC53701 generate by default waveform of 2 KH with 50% duty cycle by resistance setting only once it is powered on and not any command is there over I2C?
2. Can we adjust the Frequency/ Duty cycle by sending command over the I2C?

  • Hello,

    1. You can configure the waveform type and frequency and save this in the non-volatile memory (NVM). To achieve 50% duty cycle on startup you need to make sure the voltage connected to the DAC53701 FB pin is set to the proper voltage on startup.

    2. You could consider using a device like the DAC53202 to set the output duty cycle over I2C. The configuration will be similar to this functional block diagram from the DAC539G2-Q1 datasheet:

You can control the second channel of the DAC53202 over I2C\.
