ADS7953: Regarding 1xVref mode and 2xVref mode for ADS7954

Part Number: ADS7953

I have ADS7953 and ref4132-3.0v.

The power supply voltage of my system is 5V and the reference voltage is 3.0V.

If the ADC input signal is 4.0 Vpp,

I have problems for these 2 cases 

1) 1xVref

Does digital output is full scale 0xFFF?

2) 2xRef

Does digital output is 0xAAA (2730/4095)?

For the case 2, if my input voltage doesn't exceed Vs(5.0V), then it can't damage ADC, right?

    Hi De Wei,

    Yes - you are correct on all counts above for the ADS7953.  With a 3V reference and 2xVref mode, you would never be able to reach full-scale since the input is limited to the power supply voltage.  You might consider using a 2.5V reference instead with your 5V supply rail.
