Dear Support Team,

We are facing problem to get voltage output from DAC7716 as we did configuration as

AVDD :- +11V

AVSS :- -11 V

DVDD:- No supply

AGND :- GND

DGND :- GND

+5VD :- +5V

REFA :- INTERNAL 2.5 V

LDAC (J2.17) - HIGH( +5V)

RST (S1.3) :- HIGH

Uni/Bip A(J2.8) - HIGH (+5v).

We are monitoring the voltage at DAC channel 1, address 0101, however channel 1 is not producing any output. Is there any way we could obtain an example of code, a schematic of the connections, or setup instructions? Or any example code in Arduino or Embedded or FPGA.

Hi Gowthami,

I see that you are providing AVDD and AVSS, how are you providing DVDD and IOVDD to the device?

Are you using the EVM?
If so, what is the status of your J8 jumper?

Can you also verify the voltages at the Device's IOVDD and DVDD pins?

Hi Gowthami,

The DVDD pin requires voltage to operate the digital circuitry of the device. Tie this line to 5V and let me know if you continue to have issues.

Yes we are using EVM, J8 jumper is connected to JP8.5 and JP8.6 so 5v digital supply will be used by IOVDD internally as of DVDD we didn't give any supply as it mentioned not necessary in User guide of DAC7716 EVM

I have one more doubt in switch S1 there is RST and LDAC what is the positions of this switch , and LDAC has to be tied to LOW or HIGH ? Uni/Bip A we have connected to HIGH (+5v) so it will be in Unipolar mode.

Hi Gowthami,

LDAC should be low, and RST should be high, for immediate output voltage changing

The LDAC switch should be set to the left, the side opposite of the "1" label.

Can you provide a picture of your EVM?
