ADS1605: ADS1605: Fast 32-bit (or 34-bit) parallel gpio adc input to 2434 R5 DMA?

Part Number: ADS1605

Cross-post to this ADC forum from ARM microcontroller forum Details in here:

Summary:

Looking for (a lot of) guidance interfacing two ADS1605 ADCs (16-bit parallel data plus overrange bit, x2 ) to a 2434 R5 processor.

It's more questions about pin assignment and DMA/Interrupt resource configuration on the processor than ADC usage itself, but I suspect some of the experts in this forum might have experience with that processor as well.

Thanks for any input you can provide!

  • Hello John,

Sorry, but we do not have any experience with this processor.  The ARM team will need to help with the specifics of the MCU configuration.

Since the DOUT pins can be forced HiZ with /CS or RD high, you could share the same 16b bus to reduce the number of pins, but it may be easier for the processor to read 32b in parallel.  The OTR pins are always driven high or low, so these will need separate connections.
