DAC7311: Trying to find a way to make 12 bit signal generator to simulate DAC

Part Number: DAC7311
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, ADC161S626

Tool/software:

I'm trying to use TINA-TI to simulate a 12 bit dac similar to Precision DAC SPICE Models (ti.com), but there is no 12-bit signal generator. I was thinking then to try and use and ADC to create the digital bits I needed, but was curious if there is a better way?

  • Hi,

I would personally just use a 4 bit and 8 bit signal generator to generate portions of the 12 bit code.

There is the ADC161S626, which is a 16 bit ADC, but using two signal generators seems easier to implement for quick testing.

    Thanks,
    Lucas
