DAC8830: Unbuffered operation

Hi TI,

I am considering using the DAC without an output buffer. From page 17 of the datasheet: "These DACs are capable of driving unbuffered loads of 60 kΩ". I assume all electrical characteristics are met for loads > 60k, correct?

Hi Diego,

Yes you are correct. Keep in mind the DAC when unbuffered is effectively a resistor with output impedance of 6.25k

Will do. One more question, what is the tolerance of the output impedance approximately?

Hi Diego,

While our sheet resistor matching is very good, the absolute resistance can vary. I do not have an exact limit, but lot-to-lot variation could be ±20% usually.
