Tool/software:
I would like to ask clarification about the short-circuit current and protection that I found in the datasheet:
What happens when I short a DAC output to Ground?
Does a protection kick in, and can it stay shorted indefinitely?

Hi,
The DAC output will attempt to sink current and hit a typical value of around 40 mA.
The DAC71416 does have a Thermal Shutdown that will disable all DAC outputs in the event that the Die Temperature reaches 140°C.
If the DAC doesn't reach this temperature, it will likely stay shorted indefinitely.
Thanks,
Lucas
