TSW14J59EVM: Capture Board and Programming Inquiry

Part Number: TSW14J59EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC39RF10EVM

Tool/software:

Hello E2E Experts,

Good day.

I noticed that the TSW14xxx (capture card for DAC39RF10EVM is TSW14J59EVM) uses an Intel PSG® Arria® V GZ FPGA.
I wonder if we can use the Intel® Quartus to reprogramme the FPGA ourselves. So that no external FPGA would be needed (we could only buy the eval board)
Also, is there any source code of the EVM (adc dac) you could provide so that we can make the programming task easier

Regards,

  • Hi,

The TSW14J59EVM contains a Xilinx/AMD Kintex UltraScale+ FPGA. You can program the FPGA using a micro-USB cable connected to the USB/JTAG interface on the board. In addition, there is a JTAG header on the board, so you also have the option of using a Xilinx JTAG cable. The only thing required is to have Xilinx cable drivers installed on the FPGA. An Altera USB blaster will not be compatible with this FPGA.

The source code for the design on the TSW14J59EVM FPGA is unfortunately not shared by TI (as it is used primarily for evaluation and cannot be customized). Please let us know if you are looking to evaluate the DAC or you would like to build your own custom IP for interacting with the DAC.

    Regards,

    Ameet
