ADS114S08: Automotive grade

Part Number: ADS114S08
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS1120-Q1, ADS1148-Q1, ADS1261-Q1, ADS1018-Q1, LMP90080-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi,
I need to know if this ADC ADS114S0x Low-Power, Low-Noise, Highly Integrated, 6- and 12-Channel, 4-kSPS, 16-Bit, Delta-Sigma ADC with PGA and Voltage Reference

has an automotive certified version or a family with exactly the same specifications in terms of number of channels, D & SE, number of bits etc.

Is it possible to find a similar one or are you planning to certify it?

Thanks in advance

  • Hi Leonardo Falanga,

The ADS114S08 is not Q1 qualified, and we currently have no plans to qualify it

However, there is an ADS1148-Q1, which is the previous generation of the ADS114S08. We also have the ADS1120-Q1, which is a lower cost, lower channel count device similar to the ADS114S08

Finally, we have the ADS1261-Q1, which is a higher performance 24-bit device compared to ADS114S08.

Let me know if any of these devices could meet your requirements. It might also help to know what you are trying to do with the ADC, as we have other ADCs that could be more suitable (I only mentioned those ADCs that are similar to ADS114S08)

  • Dear Bryan,

Thank you very much for the quick response.
I thank you for the suggestions.
I had also identified the ADS1148-Q1 because is SPI, automotive, 8 channels and 16 bps resolution.
I am trying to acquire different values from sensors such as thermocouples, accelerometers, strain gauges that have automotive qualification.

As you can well understand I have both purely differential and single-ended channel requirements.
I have also identified the LMP90080-Q1 and the ADS1018-Q1 (but too few channels).
I have a need to use a few ADCs with the maximum n. of channels to get the job done.

  • Hi Leonardo Falanga,

Sounds good - do you need any additional support from us? Any additional questions about these devices?

    -Bryan

  • I will talk with the company and update u :) thx for the moment.

  • Hi Leonardo Falanga,

Understood, I'll mark this as resolved for now, you can always respond back if you have more questions, or start a new thread
