TSW14J50EVM: HSDC Pro Software - Auto re-arm trigger option unavailable

Part Number: TSW14J50EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE58JD18EVM

Tool/software:

I am using the TSW14J50EVM with the AFE58JD18EVM.

When selecting the trigger menu in the HSDC Pro software the 'Auto re-arm trigger' option is greyed out and I am unable to select it. What do I need to change to enable this feature?

  • Hi David,

May I know which version of HSDC Pro you are using?

    Thanks,

    Karthik N

  • Hi Karthik,

I am using version 6. Although I have noticed it calls itself 'Lite Pro' in the window title bar.

    Kind regards

    David

  • Hi David,

Karthik has asked me to assist you regarding your issue with HSDC Pro. I will follow-up today.

    Thank you for your patience,

    Shane

  • David,

I was able to replicate your hardware setup. While the HSDC Pro docs show TSW14J50's compatibility with your AFE, auto re-arm of the trigger is not supported in the firmware, and won't be supported in the future.

The TSW14J56EVM is compatible and shows the option available in the trigger settings. Unfortunately, this EVM is obsolete and is no longer supported. If you have one, you can install HSDC Pro v5.20 and give it a try.

To download HSDC v.5.20, go to https://www.ti.com/tool/DATACONVERTERPRO-SW

Select "Download Options" --> "View all versions"

    Select "01.00.00.0W (21 Mar 2021)"

Download "High Speed Data Converter Pro GUI Installer, v5.20 (zip)"

You should be able to keep version 6.0 installed, as 5.20 is 32-bit.

When using the GUI, it is required to use this firmware to enable auto re-arm:

    'TSW14J56REVD_ADC_DDR_DAC_BRAM_256KB_XCVR_FIRMWARE.rbf'

Apologies to any inconvenience this may cause.

    Shane
