ADS6145: Question about Analog Input Differential Voltage

Part Number: ADS6145

Tool/software:

Dear Specialists,

My customer is considering ADS6145 and has a question.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

I would like to confirm the description of ANALOG INPUT on page 41 of the ADS6145 datasheet.

For a full-scale differential input, each input pin (INP, INM) has to swing symmetrically between VCM +0.5 V and VCM – 0.5 V, resulting in a 2VPP differential input swing. The maximum swing is determined by the internal reference voltages REFP (2.5 V nominal) and REFM (0.5 V, nominal).

It says that to obtain 2Vpp, VCM +0.5 V and VCM – 0.5 V are required.

Since the differential voltage is VINP-VINM, I think it is VCM +1 V and VCM – 1V.

On the other hand, page 5 of the data sheet, REFERENCE VOLTAGES, it says VREFT=2V, VREFB=1V.

Does this mean that REFP=VREFT=2V, REFM=VREFB=1V when using the internal reference?

I'm confused, so please tell me how I should think about it.

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi
