ADS7950: Voltage applied to REFP

Part Number: ADS7950

Tool/software:

Hi team,

My customer is considering ADS7950. When using a 2.5V external reference, they're concerned about whether it is okay if the voltage applied to the REFP pin rises before the voltage applied to the +VA pin, resulting in the voltage applied to the REFP pin being greater than the voltage applied to the +VA pin.

Could you please tell me if it is okay if the voltage of REFP exceeds the voltage of +VA?

Regards,

Taito Takemura

  • Takemura-san,

For this device, there is no requirement to keep REFP below VA during power up. In fact, this pin has an input resistance of 100kΩ, so the current from the reference voltage won't harm the device.

    Regards,
    Joel
