AMC130M02: clock requirements

Part Number: AMC130M02

Tool/software:

Hi all,

I would like to know clock requrirements of this device.

Since a clock cannot be supplied from a MCU, my customer is considering supplying a clock using a crystal oscillator.

EVM is equipped SiT8924 with an accuracy of ±25(ppm) and automotive product .

Does this device require a crystal oscillator with an accuracy of ±25 (ppm) and automotive product?

We are currently using a crystal oscillator with an accuracy of ±50ppm at 8.192 MHz.

Please let us know if there are any concerns that may affect the ADC, including the frequency error.

Best Regards,

Ryusuke

  • Hi Ryusuke,

The device needs 2 clocks, one for CLKIN and one for the SCLK.  The requirements for the clock timing, frequency, and voltage can be found in the datasheet:

One thing to note is that the DCDC_Freq register has to be set depending on the CLKIN frequency and Divider ratio.

For the 8.192 crystal oscillator with an accuracy of 50ppm, I don't see an issue.  I don't think there will be a measurable impact on the ADC measurements.

    Thanks.
