ADS131A04: RESV Connection

Tool/software:

The datasheet indicates the RESV pin hard tied to IOVDD.

Customer would like to tie IOVDD through 100 Ohm to better check soldering, etc...

Is this OK? What is the max value of resistor that could be used? (Obviously 0 Ohm is the minimum)

Is there any need for the customer to use >0ohm here? Why do they need 100ohm? I doubt there is a definitive answer to this question (what is the max resistance), but I can ask the design team. It might take a few days to get the final conclusion however

They want it as part of their board test solution, they will probe the board to confirm that it's solder properly at board test.

Hi Antenna_Head,

Do they need a 100ohm resistor to confirm the pin is soldered correctly? Or just any component so they have somewhere to probe other than the ADC pin?

I have reached out to design, not sure when I will hear back from them
