ADC10D1500: Plotting ADC Data in HSDC Pro V6 - Reg

Part Number: ADC10D1500

Tool/software:

Dear Team,

I'm using High Speed Data Converter Pro V6.

I acquired 65K sample Two Tone data and plotted in HSDC Pro in single tone with following setting.

Input Frequency : F1-700MHz F2-750MHz

Sampling Frequency : 1350MHz

No of Bits : 10

No of bins removed in either side of the fundamental : 5

No of bins removed after DC : 5

No of Harmonics : 5

After plotting the data NSD marker is moved from -90dBFs to -50 dBFs. Kindly, refer the attached FFT Plot.

With the same data I'm switching Analyzing Window (Samples) from 65K to 4K. NSD marker is moved to -90dBFs as usual.

I have also plotted the 65K samples by dividing into each 4K data and checked. No difference is noted the FFT plot is as same as actual 4K data.

Only when I change the sample setting to 65K the mentioned error is shown.

Kindly, check and provide support whether Im missing out any parameter setting while plotting the Two tone data.

  • Indujha,

The FFT plots are clearly different. The resolution bandwidth is reduced from 20.5kHz to 330kHz between 65k to 4k fft plots. You cannot use the single tone test selection with a two tone input. One of the fundamental tones will be considered as a spur and the amplitude of that spur will be used in the calculation of the NSD. You need to change to two tone test selection, enter both tones frequency in the ADC Input Frequency 1/2 boxes. If you want to use rectangular windowing, you must ensure both are coherent, otherwise use Blackman or hanning window for best performance.

    Thanks, Chase
