ADS131B23-Q1: Functional Safety Certifications

Part Number: ADS131B23-Q1

Tool/software:

The datasheet mentions that "This hardware component ... Has passed a functional safety assessment by Texas Instruments."

1. Can you clarify this statement? What functional safety assessments have been passed? Can you share any data?

2. Are there any 3rd part certifications that you could share for this hardware component? (Ideally IEC 60730, secondarily ASIL)

  • Hi Ben,

welcome to our e2e forum and thanks a lot for your interest in our ADS131B23-Q1.

The ADS131B23-Q1 was developed according to TI's internal process for the development of functional safe hardware. This process is certified by TÜV Süd to be compliant with the requirements of ISO 26262 and IEC 61508.
The assessment was performed by an independent assessor from within TI, but from a different business unit, to meet the independence requirements for an ASIL D development.
We did not perform an external assessment of this device and there are currently no 3rd party certifications available.

You can request access to the available functional safety documentation for the ADS131B23-Q1 using the link on the product folder.
"Functional safety information such as failure modes, effects and diagnostic analysis (FMEDA), safety analysis reports and safety manuals are available. Request now"

    Regards,
    Joachim Wuerker
