Yes, the ALERT pin is expected to be pulled up to VA. The maximum operating rating of VA is 5.5V, so ALERT will operate with that voltage at a maximum as well.

I expect this chip VA is driven 1.8V and an external pull-up is driven 5V for ALERT. Is it okay?
Hi Koji,
The minimum supply voltage VA is 2.7V relative to the GND pin, so this device will not operate at VA = 1.8V.
With that said, if VA is above 2.7V, say 3V, the ALERT pin will have similar guidance to that of the digital inputs. See below.
Therefore, it will be okay to operate with ALERT tied to 5V and VA from 2.7V to 5.5V.
