DAC5662: Don't see connection to FPGA in EVB

Part Number: DAC5662
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS4225, , ADS4222EVM

Tool/software:

Hi TI supporter,

I have project that use x4 ADS4225 12bits 125Msps and DAC5662 12bits 275Msps.
I saw the ADS4222EVM and DAC5662EVM but don't see the connection to FPGA.
Can you give me related document?

My design has a follow this block diagram.

Can you give some FPGA part advice?

Thank you,
Long Le Nguyen

  • Hi Long Le,

The FPGA used at the time these devices evaluation boards were new, the FPGA was Intel Altera. We could not build any more of those boards due to being unable to source the FPGA for builds. Our team transitioned to xilinx FPGA recently.

I cannot provide a specific FPGA recommendation. Any FPGA that is compatible with IO levels specified by the ADS4225 and DAC5662 and can meet timing requirements as well as your memory requirements will be ok. For lower cost FPGA, I would look at Artix line from AMD. It would be good to look at the evaluation kits they offer for developing on and see which dev kit supports the features you want, then find the FPGA part number they use on the dev kit and use that for your design.

    Thanks
