ADS1292R: ECG cannot be measured with breathing enabled off

Part Number: ADS1292R

Tool/software:

Hello, I use an ADS1292R chip as my ECG signal acquisition. In order to get two-channel ECG, I turned off the respiration enable and changed the sampling rate to 1000Hz. However, the ECG waveform of one of my channels shows a lot of noise and the channel originally used for respiration signal acquisition does not collect ECG. I want to know why? The following figure is my two-channel waveform result:

This is my ECG output with 40Hz low-pass filtering. When my sample rate is 125Hz, I can get a clear ECG waveform even at 40Hz.

This is the ECG output after the respiration enable is turned off.A 40Hz low-pass filter is also used.

Hope to get a reply from all of you TI. Thanks sincerely!

  • Hello Yingying,

Thank you for your post. Please refer to the ADS1292RECG-FE User Guide for example circuit components and register settings. It is best to evaluate the performance of the ADS1292R with a patient simulator to ensure a reliable signal source. Note: measuring respiration requires using different passive component values on Channel 1 as well.

  • Hello Ryan,

Thanks for your reply! I would like to use ADS1292R as a two-channel ECG test, if so, do I need to rework the circuit schematic? I read the description in the data sheet that if I want to measure respiration, I need to convert the capacitor to 47uF, do I need to replace the capacitor artificially in order to remove the breathing enablement?

    Regards,

    Yingying

  • Yingying Zheng,

Ryan is currently out of office. Expect a delay in responses.
