ADS7038-Q1: SPI MISO

Part Number: ADS7038-Q1

Tool/software:

I am configuring the initial registers of the ADS7038-Q1, and I am receiving the following data on the MISO line:
MISO: 00 20 80
After receiving this data, even when I change the channel, the MISO data does not change.
What does 00 20 80 signify?

Could there be something wrong with the configuration?

  • Hi Sangsoo,

After an initial look, I can't determine the exact cause of this. It looks like a glitch, since the last 12 bits of the output data should all be 0 with the configuration you have done in previous frames. Are you be able to capture this happening with an oscilloscope, to observe the actual behavior at this time?

    Regards,
    Joel

  • Hi Joel

The oscilloscope waveform is as follows, and it has been confirmed that the waveform matches the data.

When the SPI initial communication period is slightly increased, the correct MISO data appears.

    Thank you

    Kind regards

  • Hi Sangsoo,

These are interesting results. Can you confirm what the SCLK frequency is when the issue appears, and what it is changed to when it goes away? Let me know if I interpreted that correctly.

    Regards,
    Joel
