Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC61404, DAC81408
Tool/software:
We are looking at replacing a older parallel DAC with the DAC61408. The older DAC has separate power pins for analog ground and digital ground and the existing design maintains this separation using a split plane. The DAC61408 does not have separate analog and digital grounds but instead has a ground pin adjacent to the VIO pin, another ground on the same side of the chip as the other power pins and reference voltage, as well as a thermal pad which also gets grounded.
So I am trying to figure out how I could work this DAC into the existing design using a split analog/digital plane. Can anyone offer any advice?
My other option would be to use the DAC61404 which does provide separate analog and digital grounds but I would be looking at 4 of those devices verses two of the DAC61408 devices.
Thank you.
