DAC8830-EP: VDD pin

Part Number: DAC8830-EP

Tool/software:

Hi there,

on the DAC8830-EP datasheet  SGLS334C (revised 2007) on page 7 the VDD pin is listed as 'Analog power'.
By looking at the device architecture, electrical characteristics and I/O plots it seems Vdd is the 'Digital power'. Is there a typo on page 7?

What do you think?

Regards

  • Hi Flavio,

VDD powers all circuitry inside the chip, most of which is digital because this is an unbuffered DAC. The only analog portion is the DAC string which is "supplied" by VREF as shown in figures 45 and 46.

You can consider VDD a digital supply. The pin list was likely copied from another device when this datasheet was created, and the writer mistakenly left the word analog.

    Best,
