Hello,

in the thread "ADS7067: Experience with ADS7067 Reset" it is mentioned, that it "should" not be a problem to switch off only the AVDD supply, despite the recommendations (for the REF voltage and all inputs).

Can you guarantee that a short violation of the maximum ratings will not damage the part? If so can you name a timespan that would be valid? I need concrete answers for my boss.

    Hello Michael, 

    I apologize for the confusion and I will clarify, for an occasional situation of resetting the device by switching off the AVDD within a very short time span and without removing an the external reference source, the device should be fine.  This is by no means the recommended method of resetting the device. Please follow the requirements of the Absolute Maximum Ratings limitations and datasheet specifications to ensure proper device functionality.
