ADS42LB49: SYNCing input

Part Number: ADS42LB49

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am having trouble to find out how exactly to use the SYNCIN signal.  The EVAL board

user guide mentions absolutely nothing about it.

I found 2 versions of the data sheet.  On the older one, it mentions register "x30",

bit "D5" to enable/disable it.  If enabled, the SYNCIN is active low (page #8).

On the newer data sheet, there is no more mentioning of register "x30", but there

is still a graph to show that the SYNCIN is active high (page #31).

I guess, this SYNC input enables the user to pick which clock cycle to take the

data.  What should I do if I would like to SYNC / start with a particular clock cycle,

then keep going?  Do I need to maintain SYNCIN high?

In this case (start, keep going for some time), my SYNCIN can be a rather low

frequency signal.  Can I use single end?  Like tie SYNCINM to ground, only

pulse SYNCINP?

And, is register "x30" still available?

Thank you very much for helping.  Best regards,

Dehong
