ADS1285: thermocupler meter survey

Part Number: ADS1285

Tool/software:

hi Sir

we would like to design a meter for thermocupler, old design is use ADI/AD7780

We would like to design the next gen product, spec as below

did you have any advise?

thanks

  • Hello Chen,

ADS1285 is not the best part to use for thermocouple measurements.  It can be used, but it is optimized for seismic monitoring.

For highest resolution and data rates up to 38ksps, ADS1262 would be a great choice.

Another excellent choice is the ADS124S06, supporting 24b and data rates up to 4ksps.

Both of these ADC's have everything needed to support thermocouple measurements.  Also, I recommend looking at the below application note for temperature measurements.
