ADC10D1500: dBFS to dBm conversion or vice versa

Hi Team,

I am working with ADC10D1500 and in the datasheet mostly the parameters are mentioned in dBFs. I would like to know if dBFs can be converted into dBm or vice versa for this ADC? If so what is the formulae for it. Can you explain it in detail?

Hi Vineela,

Please give an example of what you would like converted.

For example, dBFS, means relative to the ADC's fullscale value, so in this case for this ADC10D1500, fullscale is 790mVpp differential.

Since the ADC has a 100ohm differential impedance this would make it -1.08dBm in order to achieve fullscale of the ADC.

This is the level that would be presented at the ADC's analog input pins.

You have replied that ADC10D1500 which has a 100ohm differential impedance would make -1.08dBm in order to achieve fullscale of the ADC. Does this mean -1.08 dBm = 0 dBFs for this ADC10D1500? If this is so then in datasheet as per Technical Parameters for condition AIN = 100 MHz is the SNR value -0.5 dBFS = -1.58 dBm?
