DAC11001B: DAC11001B of unipolar use issues

Part Number: DAC11001B

Tool/software:

With the DAC11001 converter, the reference circuit is only bipolar, and we only use unipolar now, what kind of modifications can be made to the circuit? Or there is a reference circuit available. If the output is unipolar, does the code need to be configured specially? In addition to the above hardware changes. At present, we are trying to connect the op amp of the negative voltage reference of the bipolar reference to ground in phase, and the circuit does not work properly, or we can help provide the schematic diagram of how to change the unipolar operation of the DA(The actual circuit only uses outputs greater than zero volts, but AD is a bipolar reference power supply, so I can only use half of it, which is 19 bits, and I want to use 20 bits now, so please ask me how to implement the unipolar configuration of Da),Thanks

  • Hi,

I will have a look into your design and get back to by tomorrow EOD.

    Thanks,
    Sanjay

  • Hi,

I was looking at the schematic and couldn't figure out net/pin names and connections due to poor image quality.
Please share the pdf version of the same or good quality image.

    Thanks,
    Sanjay

  • Hi,

If I understand correctly, you are to modify your already available bipolar output circuit to unipolar output configuration, right ?

And it very easy to get that without loosing the DAC resolution from 20bit to 19bit..

    My inputs -
     >> Change the negative reference to REFGND -
            > remove uU86 and connect the +ve pin of U85 to GND.
            > or remove U85, R353, C396 and connect the REFNF/REFNS to GND.
     >> Keep the positive reference to the same one e.i. - 10V (assuming you are looking for 0V to 10V output)
     >> No need to change power supplies, and you still want to change to DAC VSS needs to be min -3V.

You can try these modifications in your design and it should be good enough to get the unipolar voltage output.

Please let me know for any further help if you need.

    Thanks,
    Sanjay

  • 对的,我们DA输出只用0~5V,参考设计是-5到5,这样一半的负压用不到,导致我实际只用到0~5V,DA的位数只能用到19位,我们习

  • Yes, I want to achieve a 20 bit resolution in the 0V~5V output range, which essentially requires a resolution of 20 bits

  • Hi,

This is possible with VREFN = 0V and VREFP = 5V and you will get true 20bit resolution without loosing any bit.
Please follow the instructions provided in the previous reply.

    Thanks,
    Sanjay
