DDS39RF10: Decoupling requirements

Part Number: DDS39RF10
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC39RF10

Tool/software:

We are making a new design including the DDS39RF10. During the design we are looking at decoupling the DAC and are wondering if the DDS39 have on chip decoupling?

By looking at the recommendations on decoupling it states one per power pin.

But are some pins more sensitive than others and is it possible to leave some pins without a dedicated capacitor due to layout limitations?

  • Hi Aak,

I would use the DAC39RF10 or RF12EVM to understand the decoupling strategy.

    www.ti.com/.../DAC39RF10EVM

This will give you a good understanding on what and how power supply domains can be combined and how it should be properly decoupled and filtered for those particular domains. This is very important if you application requires datasheet performance phase noise.
