DAC7760EVM: Problem to see driver under Windows 11 of SM-USB-DIG

Part Number: DAC7760EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SW-USB-WINDRIVERS, DAC8760EVM,

Tool/software:

Hello

When I connect the SM-USB-DIG under Windows 11, nothing happens. Windows does not show me that it has found new hardware. I can't see the SM-USB-DIG in the device manager either and I can't see any problem with connected hardware. There is nothing!

Then I want to download the SW-USB-WINDRIVERS, but I always get a message like this:

An error occurred while processing your request.

Can you help me ?

  • Hi Thomas,

SM-USB-DIG is a pretty old platform, and it may be trouble to run in Windows 11. We'll review your issue and try to provide some suggestions.

  • Thomas,

I'm running on Windows 11 and am able use the DAC8760EVM (same platform as the DAC7760EVM) with the SM-USB-DIG.

First, I've seen similar messages from errors.edgesuite.net, and I think that this is likely a blocking of the web download from your network. I would check with one of your system administrators on this.

Second, when I plug in the SM-USB-DIG, my Device Manager does acknowledge a new device by refreshing the listing of devices, but I don't see any extra USB devices connected. On my computer, this is the listing of USB devices, before and after plugging in the USB connection:

Just the same, when you connect the USB, there should be a green LED that appears just below the "Texas Instruments" label on the SM-USB-DIG. When you plug this into the DAC7760EVM board, make sure the 10 pins are aligned correctly to the connector. It is possible to misalign the connections on the board. After that you can check the VDUT voltage with a meter to make sure it appears.

  • Thx

This helped me to know that the stick is not displayed in the driver package after connection.
The problem was also that the specified software did not display an error, regardless of whether the stick was connected or not. The LEDs in the software light up green, even if no board is connected to the stick. This also irritates me.

    Thank you very much

    Best regards

    Thomas
