AM26C32-EP Signaling Rate

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM26C32-EP

Can you please advise what the maximum signaling rate is AM26C32-EP.  Thank you.

  • Paul,

I apologize for the delay in response. I have moved the post to Hi-Rel area and the question will be answered shortly.

  • Paul,

The max signalling rate of the device will be limited primarily by the output transition times.

In the datasheet, these are listed as TTLH, and TTHL and are 10 and 9ns respectively.

The other element to the max rate is ability for device on recieving end to capture this data and what duty cycle is acceptable.

The absolute minimum would be the sum of both transition times, and would be 19ns period ~ 50Mhz.

Practically this will be somewhat slower depending on the device receiving the results.  Also, the transition delays are based on 50pf load.  Larger loads will cause the transition times to be longer.

I am not familiar with requirements that may be imposed by a serial transmission standard.  The above represents the silicon worst case capability to transition.
