Greetings,
I wan t to make mv source generator. I am thinking to convert DAC8571 output to mV. Any circuit design ideas will be helpful.
Thanks.

Hi Nimit,
DACs divide down a reference voltage based on the input code. The DAC8571 is a 16-bit DAC, so assuming you use a 2.5V reference the output step size is 38uV.
What output range do you need, what resolution do you actually require, and what reference do you have available to use?

Katlynne Jones
Greetings,
For reference i have used lm336 but in my case my schematic is bit modified.. Above is my schematic for mv generation. 38 uV will be good enough for my application.
Hi Nimit,
The first stage of your circuit is a voltage divider. At lower DAC codes you're dividing down an already small signal and then feeding this to the op amp input. You need to make sure that the offset voltage of the op amp you use is smaller than the smallest input signal you expect to use.
Otherwise, this circuit is ok.

Katlynne Jones
ok thanks. I have removed that transistor from the output stage and now i am getting good results...
Hi Nimit,
Sounds good. Let us know if you run across any other questions.

I have used OP07 from TI. Is there any other better op amp available in TI for this type of application then do let me know.
Thanks.
Hi Nimit,
If OP07 is working for you now, then I'm sure that will be sufficient. My only concern was the offset voltage, and this device has external offset voltage calibration.
Best,
Katlynne
Any document or schematic for offset voltage calibration will be helpful to me.
Thanks.
Hi Nimit,
Section 8.1 of the datasheet talks about it briefly: OP07x Precision Operational Amplifiers datasheet (Rev. H)
And the datasheet points to: Nulling Input Offset Voltage of Operational Amplifiers
