ADC3669EVM: ADC3669EVM

Part Number: ADC3669EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADC3669, TSWDC155EVM

Tool/software:

Hi,

We recently purchased the ADC3669EVM to be used with a ZU102 and would like to check out the the ADC3669EVM before mating the card.

Is there a way to do this via HSDC Pro ?

The ADC3669EVM is not visible in the HSDC GUI  when ADC3669EVM is standalone.- Is there a Patch or a different GUI version ( using

-Thanks,

Bill

  • Hi Bill,

The EVM will not be able to capture data by itself. You will need an FPGA capture card to capture the output data from the ADC. The TI capture card for the ADC3669EVM is the TSWDC155EVM. Once you purchase and recieve this baord, I can send you the required software to interface with HSDC Pro.

  • Thanks Luke , we have an FPGA capture card - Xilinx ZCU102 - which is compatible with ADC3669EVM.

We are working on a FPGA/FW interface for the ZCU102 but expected the HSDC Pro to be able to connect to & recognize the ADC3669EVM.

The ADC3669EVM selection switch indicates Comms option either FMC or USB- so I'm guessing the GUI needs something ele to recognize the EVM.

  • Hi Bill,

Ah, understood. HSDC Pro is only used to capture and display data from the FPGA. It sounds like you are looking for a GUI to program/configure the ADC3669. We are currently in the process of releasing the ADC3669 GUI to our website, and it should be available for download on the ADC3669EVM product page in the next day or two.

  • Ok, sounds good.

    Thank-you.

  • Hi Bill,

The software is now online. You can download the installer here: https://www.ti.com/tool/download/ADC3669EVM-GUI

We are also in the process of uploading an updated user's guide explaining how to use the GUI. If you would like to get started now, you will need to:

    • Connect the ADC3669EVM to 12V/1A using the DC Jack
    • Connect the ADC3669EVM to your PC using the USB Mini B Cable
    • Connect your filtered clock signal to the SMA connector labeled CLK
    • Connect your filtered analog input signal to SMA connector labeled AINp.

From there, you can run the GUI. Configure the ADC as desired and click the "program" button. This will configure the ADC. If you were using the TSWDC155EVM, this would also handle calibration and data capture. When using the TSWDC155EVM, we perform some IO calibration and frame sync on the outptu data. You will need to handle this calibration and data capture in your design since you are using a custom solution with the ZCU102.

I am going to go ahead an close out this post. If you have any further questions or experience any issues with the GUI, please feel free to start a new thread. We welcome any feedback, as this is a brand new GUI.

    Best,

    Luke Allen
