When using the ADS1278, we encountered situations where certain channels burned out.
Does the ADS1278 internally implement clamp voltage protection? If not, are there reference designs for external implementation?

The ADS1278 has ESD input protection; the maximum continuous current that these ESD cells can tolerate without damage to the device is 10mA.
