ADS7957-Q1: adc value error

Part Number: ADS7957-Q1

Tool/software:

Each channel (ch0~ch15) receives and processes 0~5V input according to the temperature sensor status.

The voltage input to each channel does not fluctuate, but the temperature value displayed in some products fluctuates severely, so we are checking. We recognized it as cold soldering and replaced and reworked the parts (SMT), but the same symptom is occurring. (There is no abnormality in the voltage input to the circuit.)

Do I need to connect GPIO2 related to the RANGE setting? The circuit is currently not connected (floating).

  • Hello,

Are you able to share a schematic of the circuit? What sampling rate are you running the device at? Can you share a few examples of the values you expect and what you are getting?

    Regards,
    Joel

  • Hi Joel

Question : Do I have to connect gpio2 when setting up RANGE?
The current schematic has gpio2 floating.

I'd like to request a review of schematic.

My customer doesn't want to disclose the circuit, so I want to deliver it personally.

Please let me know your email address or any other way.

    Thanks

  • Hi David,

GPIOs can remain floating if not in use, but it is best practice to tie them to ground or AVDD. This should not be causing an issue though.

I've sent you a friend request on E2E so you can correspond further.

    Regards,
    Joel
