ADS131M08: ADS131M08

Part Number: ADS131M08

Tool/software:

Hi Ti team,

I am using ADS131M08 in my design and it receives input analog voltage of 0.6V to 2.4V centred around 1.4V.

But the ADS131M08 has mentioned the reference voltage is 1.25V which is internally provided in the device.

can I connect external reference of 2.5V  to the reference pin to obtain input voltage upto 2.5V?

  • Hi Bhanu Priya M,

The reference input on ADS131M08 should be limited to 1.1V~1.3V, typical Vref is 1.25V. Please see the section 6.3 Recommended Operating Conditions (ROC) in the datasheet. If a high Vref and wide input range is needed, ADS131E08 can be considered.

  • Hi Bhanu Priya,

    following some additional comment.
The external reference voltage range of ADS131M08 is limited to 1.1V to 1.3V as Dale mentioned.
However if you could connect the negative analog input to 1.4V, then the positive input can swing between 0.6V and 2.4V. You will then measure a differential signal (V_INP - V_INN) ranging from -0.8V to + 1V. This could be measured using the internal VREF.
