TX7316EVM: Research Feasibility of Ultrasound Imaging Setup Using TX7316EVM + AFE5808A EVM

Part Number: TX7316EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AFE5808A

Tool/software:

Hello,

I am a graduate student, conducting research on ultrasound vascular imaging. The aim of my work is to design and experimentally validate a prototype ultrasound imaging system that can be used for algorithm development and evaluation in a laboratory environment.

For this purpose, I am considering the following experimental setup:

  • Ultrasound probe (linear array, ~10–15 MHz, shallow vascular imaging)

  • TX7316EVM as the high-voltage programmable pulser/driver

  • AFE5808A EVM (or other AFE series) as the low-noise analog front-end for receive channels

  • Computer workstation for data acquisition and image reconstruction

My questions are:

  1. Is this setup feasible to acquire raw RF ultrasound data from vascular targets (e.g., superficial arm vessels) for offline image reconstruction and analysis?

  2. Would I also require an FPGA data capture board (such as TSW1400) to transfer digitized AFE data to the computer, or can the EVMs alone provide sufficient data output for research experiments?

  3. Is there a technical or sales contact (preferably in China) who can support academic research projects of this type?

This project is for academic research only (non-commercial), focusing on experimental verification of ultrasound system design and signal processing methods.

Thank you very much for your guidance and support.
