Part Number: DDC264EVM
I am preparing an experiment using the DDC264EVM to measure currents coming from an external TEG.
In our setup, the TEG already includes its own sensing circuitry, and we would like to route 64 current-input sensing lines from the TEG directly into the analog inputs of the DDC264EVM. From the user guide and schematics, I understand that the DDC264EVM main board and its analog input board (AIB) are connected via MEG-Array connectors FCI_CONN_84500 and 84501-101LF.
To interface our TEG with the EVM, we are considering an intermediate bridge PCB, where:
-
One side carries the same MEG-Array connector(s) compatible with the DDC264EVM main board (FCI_CONN_84500 / 84501-101LF), and
-
The other side has an FPCB connector that mates with the connector on our TEG,
so that this bridge board simply forwards the 64 current-input lines from the TEG to the DDC264EVM.
I would like to ask for your advice on the following points, with a particular focus on custom manufacturing:
-
Is it possible to have such a bridge PCB designed and manufactured as a paid/custom service through TI, or through any TI-recommended design/manufacturing partner? If so, could you please let me know the appropriate contact, process, or channel to request such a custom board?
-
Alternatively, does TI already provide any generic bridge/adapter board or reference design/example that allows directly connecting an external 64-channel sensor board to the DDC264EVM?
-
If neither a ready-made nor a custom board service is available from TI, is it acceptable for a user to design and build their own bridge PCB using these MEG-Array connectors to interface with the DDC264EVM? In that case, I would appreciate any recommendations or cautions regarding signal integrity, allowable stack height, grounding/layout, etc.
Additionally, for the connectors FCI_CONN_84500 and 84501-101LF used on the EVM, is it possible to purchase them through TI, or should we obtain them directly from the connector vendor (Amphenol/FCI) or standard distributors such as Digi-Key or Mouser?
In summary, we would like to know whether a bridge PCB to connect 64 external current-input channels from our TEG to the DDC264EVM can be custom-built via TI or its partners, and, if not, whether we can safely purchase the same connectors and design our own board.
Thank you very much for your support, and please let me know if any additional information about our setup would be helpful.
