Hi,

the datasheet on page 6 says, that the digital output level of the chip (e.g. #DRDY, DOUT) ist MIN. DVDD-0.4, that means with 3V supply the minimum voltage level is 1.4V.

But there is no typical oder maximum value, what does that mean for me with an input level at the controller of min. 3V?

Hi Sebastian,

If your digital supply voltage to the ADS1298 is 3.3V, the minimum Voh is going to be 2.9V. Using a supply rail of 3.4V for the DVdd of the ADS1298 or adding pull up resistors should ensure you meet the minimum 3.0V level required by your controller.

The 1.4V level you mention above would be the minimum Voh if your digital supply to the was at the minimum 1.8V level. If your intention is to run the digital supply of the ADS1298 at 1.8V, you will need a level translator between the ADC and your controller. You might consider using something like the TXB0104.
