WaveVision to DAC to ADC to WaveVision

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SPUSI2, WAVEVISION4, DAC121S101

Hi,

I am using the DAC121S101EVAL board with WaveVision, but my circuit has a tap off point which I will feed into the ADC128S102EVAL board.  Rather than use two computers running WaveVision (one to control the DAC, the other to read the ADC), is there a way to make one WaveVision computer control the DAC and also read back data on the ADC?

Thanks,

  • Hello Sarah,

Unfortunately the WaveVision system does not support control of multiple DUT boards with one WaveVision board. I understand using two seperate WaveVision boards/computers is not the most elegant or inexpensive solution. It may be possible for you to run (i.e. send digitial codes via SPI) the DAC with our SPUSI2 board and TINYI2C software while running the ADC with the WaveVision4 (WV4) board at the same time with the same computer. At $80 vs. $500 for the WV4 board the SPUSI2 board would result in a more affordable evaluation platform. Let me look into it and will provide an update when available.

  • Sarah, So it appears that yes you can run SPUSI2 board and WV4 board at the same time on the same computer. A couple notes though, first, the SPUSI2 board was not intended for the DAC121S101 and you will need to kludge the two together. Second, it appears that the product folder for the SPUSI2 board is currently down. I made a request to reload it and it should be available in the next couple days. I hope this helps.
