what is the Serial Register F default value of ADS6424

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ADS6424

Hello all

I am using ADS6424, but I can't find the Serial Register F default value of ADS6424. In Serial Register F of  the datasheet, D7 is used to difine Byte/bit wise outputs(only when2-wireis selected): 0 Bytewise 1 Bitwise, but no anywhere to explain the default value when power up! Any one can tell me?

  • Hi,

The default value for the register space after reset is all register bits are zero.  Thus the default mode for bytewise/bitwise will be byte-wise.  I think maybe the original author of the datasheet may have taken the phrase 'resets all internal registers' in the way that an old-style logic designer would consider a flipflop 'reset' means reset to zero and 'set' means sets to one.  But I think the datasheet could benefit from a more explicit statement that all registers are reset to zero, as we now state in our newer datasheets so you don't have to assume anything.

    Regards,
