Looking for a DAC, 12bit (or higher)SPI interface,single chanel,with output voltage range of +/-10V.

I found the DAC714/DAC7731,but these are old and  in large package .

Any other recomendation?

  • Eli,

Is it a requirement that the DAC "natively" outputs the +/-10V signal? There's certainly some methods to generate external circuitry to condition the DAC output to the correct range. This is a pretty common method to achieve the desired output which will open up your range of possible devices.

What package is most ideal for you? DAC8811 has a smaller package and the EVM can be pretty easily modified to create a +/-10V signal.

  • Hi,

Today customer using our DAC7512 (+ OP-AMP from LTC, p/n  LT1112, but they face high output offset.

This is the reason they think to use other DAC  that has the capability of  +/-10V.

Other solution is to use different amp.

  • Eli,

If the DAC itself needs to be able to swing +/-10V without external conditioning then our choices are limited. The DAC7731 would seem to be a pretty nice fit here to me, especially given the benefits of the calibration features it brings to the table...

I'll stew on this for a bit and see if I can come up with something smaller
